OECD INTERNATIONAL ONLINE CONFERENCE: 31 MAY-2 JUNE
DISRUPTED FUTURES: HOW SCHOOLS CAN BEST EQUIP STUDENTS
FOR THEIR WORKING LIVESThe OECD is hosting a free 3 day online conference next week whose focus will be the role of schools in preparing students for working life. The programme includes practice and research papers, in parallel sessions, from 15 countries worldwide. The opening session on the 31st May will be devoted to a new OECD analysis on how career guidance can best respond to social inequalities (social class, gender, migrant status) with some international examples of practice.The conference is divided into five sessions, each of which has to be registered for separately. The conference papers will be ultimately viewable online.The OECD has recently launched an Observatory on the Use of Digital Technologies in Career Guidance for Youth (ODiCY). The Observatory will be is an open-access repository on the use of digital technologies in career education and guidance by primary and secondary schools, and feature practice examples.
